Where it all started
Affectionately known by our team and regulars as “the pub,” our Monterey brewpub has been crafting award-winning beer on California’s Central Coast for over a decade. This is where it all began—and where we brewed our flagship beer, Mai Tai P.A., right behind that glass wall. With five medals from the Great American Beer Festival, Mai Tai P.A. has become one of the most celebrated West Coast IPAs in the country.
Our on-site 10-barrel brewhouse (about 300 gallons per batch) powers our constantly rotating lineup, including hop-forward IPAs, bright Pale Ales, crisp lagers, and experimental small-batch beers. This system allows us to innovate and test new beer recipes at the pub—recipes that, when proven, scale up to our 30-barrel production brewery in Salinas (roughly 1,800 gallons per batch). From there, our beers are canned and distributed throughout California.

Reservations and large party info
For parties of fewer than 5 guests, we welcome walk-ins—no reservation needed. For groups with 5 or more guests, please call us at 831-655-2337 to reserve a table.
The Monterey location is unable to accommodate reservations for parties of 15 or more, but our Carmel location is able to host large groups. Please call or email 831-293-8621 or carmel@asb.beer directly to inquire.
Please note that our beer garden operates on a first-come, first-served basis & we do not take reservations for that area.
